Greening schools involves a comprehensive incorporation of sustainability issues in all relevant course offerings, curricula, textbooks, related educational materials, campus-wide programs, and K-12 assembly programs. Greening education also involves changes in existing school and campus buildings and operations, green building for new facilities, green vehicles for fleet additions, green purchasing, and other related reforms to operating practices. In addition, events cover environmental education occurring outside formal educational settings, including programs for the general public, social marketing, and green or eco-parenting.
