In the field for three decades, Bonda has been interior design director for leading architectural firms, including the Washington, D.C. offices of Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann and The Hillier Group. She founded ASID’s Sustainable Design Council and was a principal developer of the REGREEN Residential Remodeling Guidelines, a joint project with the Green Buildings Council. Commercial Interiors She has served on the U.S. Green Building Council’s board, was a charter member of the LEED Steering Committee, is a member of the LEED workshop faculty, and is environmental consultant to the USGBC’s Standards Council. She has also served on numerous advisory councils for academic, industry and regulatory organizations, including the materials certification group Greenguard, the Council for Interior Design, and the Dupont Antron Sustainability Advisory Council. Bonda holds ASID’s Designer of Distinction award and the USGBC Leadership Award, among many other honors. She has received an honorary doctorate from the New York School of Interior Design and an honorary Senior Fellowship from the Design Futures Council. Bonda speaks on green interior design with an emphasis on commercial interiors.
