Jim
Bowyer has more than 30 years of experience in natural resources and
forestry-related teaching and research. He is currently Chairman of
the Tropical Forest Foundation, Scientific Advisor to the Temperate
Forest Foundation, and Vice-President of the Consortium for Research
on Renewable Industrial Materials. Bowyer is an expert in forest policy
and environmental life cycle analysis, has authored more than 190
scientific articles as well as a best-selling textbook, and consults
widely on forestry issues. He speaks on the environmental aspects
of forestry, wood use policies and practices, and tropical deforestation.
While widely recognized for his technical expertise, he discusses
forestry-related topics in the context of global concerns including
consumption, population and economic growth, and sustainable development.
