He has been Program Director and Education Director for TreePeople, where he pioneered work on education, community building and social marketing that touched the lives of millions. He has been a consultant, advisor or program developer for numerous organizations including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Council of Environmental Educators, the California Department of Education, the California Department of Forestry, the Los Angeles County Board of Education, the Los Angeles Unified School District, and many others. He developed a partnership, the CREEC Network, which included the California Department of Education, non-profits, local government agencies and corporations to coordinate environmental education in Los Angeles County. In its first five years, the CREEC Network brought together more than 100 organizations to better serve two million youth. He has keynoted conferences for the Lake Tahoe Environmental Education Consortium, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the California Society for Ecological Restoration, the Colorado Chapter of the American Association of Landscape Architects, Sustainable Landscapers, and Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment.
