China. He is the author of

as well as of numerous articles. Register typically engages audiences
with a slide presentation featuring wide ranging examples - from Curitiba,
Brazil to Kathmandu, Nepal, from Berkeley to Berlin - of cities implementing
practical sustainable development solutions. He links our auto-dependent
sprawling cities and towns to problems ranging from global warming
to species extinctions, but he focuses primarily on what can be done,
and what is being done, to craft creative, inspiring, community-oriented
solutions.
