Working with Governor Schwarzenegger, environmental groups, and business leaders, he designed several highly innovative solutions to our environmental and energy challenges - the Hydrogen Highway, the Million Solar Roof Initiative, and the landmark Climate Change Action Plan. He continues to consult with numerous other senior governmental and business leaders around the world on energy and environmental policy, especially the solutions to global warming. In 2007, he was named the Cullman Senior Fellow and
Director of the Climate Policy Program of The New America Foundation,
a non-profit, post-partisan, public policy institute. His latest book,

Per Gallon: The True Cost of Our Oil Addiction Earlier in his environmental career, Tamminen founded the Santa Monica BayKeeper and served as its Executive Director for six years. He co-founded Waterkeeper programs in San Diego, Orange County, Ventura, and Santa Barbara. He also served for five years as Executive Director of the Environment Now Foundation in Santa Monica and co-founded the Frank G. Wells Environmental Law Clinic at the School of Law, University of California Los Angeles. Tamminen speaks on climate change, cap and trade mechanisms to cut carbon emissions, renewable energy and energy conservation, auto emissions and health, transportation alternatives, politics and sustainability, and environmental leadership in governmental agencies. the summer of 2003, Terry Tamminen helped Arnold Schwarzenegger win
the historic recall election and become Governor of California. He
was appointed Secretary of the California Environmental Protection
Agency in November, 2003 and later appointed Cabinet Secretary, the
Chief Policy Advisor to the Governor.
